A
Duckbill Deck Wrecker is designed to provide the leverage you need to easily pry up
stubborn deck boards. Until now, removal of old decking was best left to bulldozers
and backhoes. Corroded ring-shank nails may pop up by themselves, but pulling them
from the joist is a real job; most crowbars, cat’s paws and even sledge hammers are of
limited use. Two heavy gauge steel claws straddle a single or double joist. Place these
under the offending deck board and let the 17:1 leverage ratio do the work. The head
is pinned to the tool shaft so that it may be flipped for better access when working
near a wall or a deck rail. When removing a deck installed with screws, first remove
the screws with an impact driver or driver/drill. Deck Wrecker will remove the deck
boards, but pulling the screws from the joist often splits the joist. The Duckbill Deck
Wrecker comes with a fiberglass handle and a 15 year workmanship warranty.
