410 Stainless Steel Self-Drilling Self-Tapping Trim-Head
Screws D
Steel studs have revolutionized segments of the building industry, but how do you attach
wood siding or trim boards if you don’t want seriously corroded fasteners? These trim-head
screws have a #3 self-drilling point which, when used with light-gauge steel, is designed for
a total material thickness of .035” to .100”. They’re made of 410 (magnetic) stainless steel, so
expect some light discoloration. Imported.

Stainless Steel Cement Board Screws
Tool Accessories
Now there is a self-threading concrete fastener designed specifically for exposed exterior
applications. Whether you are mounting a sign, locking down a park bench, installing a
handrail or just fastening a bottom plate, you won’t need to worry about corrosion. Unlike
most grades of stainless, the 410 series is hardened, making it perfect for these masonry
fasteners. Life is full of trade-offs, though, and these screws are not as corrosion resistant as
the more common grades of stainless. It isn’t unusual for the screws to have a very light red
tint after exterior exposure. Note: 5/16” hex head requires a nonstandard 5/16” diameter
pilot hole. Imported.

Now use 316 or 410 stainless steel Square Drive screws to attach fiber cement board siding,
trim or backer board to wood sheathing or wood/metal studs! Fastening the new fiber
cement board products, including siding and back boards with standard drywall screws or
nails can be difficult and cause problems after installation. Screws and nails often break or
bend over time. Aggressive nibs under the head of these cement board screws help them
countersink flush (crucial with installing siding), and a self-drilling point help them penetrate
tough cement board easily. Imported.
