5mm drawer-slide mounting screws
Now you can install Euro-style drawer slides using either Square Drive or standard PoziDrive.
These screws are made specifically for use with the European 32mm cabinet components
and perfectly fit the standard mounting holes on Grass® drawer slides, as well as most other
brands. For best results, use our 5mm self-centering pilot-hole drill (#MS-6006). Packages of
16 provide the correct quantity to mount Euro-style drawer slides. Imported.

Flat head screw heads don’t seat properly in the Euro-style drawer-slide mounting holes.
This screw’s undercut head matches the slide-material thickness of Grass Euro slides as well
as most other brands, so the screw seats properly. Use our self-centering bit (#MS-5107) to
predrill for at least two mounting screws on each slide before drilling all of the mounting
holes. Zinc plated screws have a #2 Phillips drive. Imported.

These screws have sharp, self-drilling points to minimize predrilling. For best alignment,
however, use a self-centering bit (#MS-5107) for at least two of the mounting holes on the
cabinet half of the slide. That will keep everything in place should one of the screws wander.
It is nickel plated with a Phillips drive. Imported.

Most man-made materials used in cabinetmaking are basically composed of wood dust
in a resin matrix − there is no traditional grain structure to resist withdrawal forces.
Fortunately, there are solutions:

Confirmat screws were developed specifically for edge-to-face joining of particlebased products like melamine board. They have deep threads on an oversize shank, a
clearance-hole diameter shoulder beneath the head, and a head that is just slightly
larger than the shoulder. Installation requires a special three-step drill bit, but the
result is a tight, strong joint.
RTA screws make stronger joints than cabinet-connecting screws, but the construction
is “fussier.” The screws have large wafer heads, blunt tips and machine screw threads
that mate with small cylindrical cross-drilled barrel nuts. Installation requires precise
drilling of two blind holes, but the system can be used with many materials and joint
conditions.

If assembly speed and cost are important, use an extra-long cabinet screw, such as our
FSL or ProMax® series screws. Predrill when working close to the edge (even when
using auger point screws), since man-made materials are prone to crumbling. Note that
it is best to consider this a permanent clamp while an adhesive is curing, rather than a
primary fastener.
