Round Washer Head Pocket Hole Screws
B
Kreg’s round washer head pocket-hole screws offer slightly more bearing area beneath the
head than the industry standard pan-head design. This can be important when working with
soft materials such as Pine, Cedar or Basswood. All three thread styles have self-drilling
auger points, which help reduce gapping due to chips at the joint. Square Drive. Imported.

Plugging a Pocket Hole
Pocket-hole plugs are cut at an angle so that they sit perfectly flush on the top of
the screw head when fully inserted. A small amount of plug will remain above flush
and will need to be trimmed off with a handsaw or sanded.

These 1” pocket-hole screws are handy for joining 1/2”-thick frame cabinets. Choose fine
thread for hardwood or coarse thread for softer woods. Micro Pocket Hole Screws are used
with the KRT-MPLUG-DG small jig and Micro-Pocket Plugs (at right). The screws have a clearzinc coating for mild corrosion resistance. Imported.

Plug
1. Drill hole to adequate
depth, and drive screw to
secure joint. Tip: Set the
depth collar on your drill
bit approximately 1/8” further from the step of the drill to ensure that the screw
head will be deep enough for the plug to fully cover the pocket hole.
The HD screws are used with the KTC-3000 HD Jig for 1-1/2” and thicker materials. Guarded
against corrosion with Kreg’s three layer anti-corrosive Protec-Kote ceramic coating. A selftapping tip aids in driving. Imported.
2. Glue and place. Place a fair amount of glue into the bottom of the pocket and
around the perimeter of the plug. Press into place, and wipe away excess glue.

3. Trim or sand off excess plug. Softwoods can often be made flush with an orbital
sander, while hardwoods will most likely require trimming with a flush-cut
handsaw before final sanding.
