ThruLOK® is a (patent pending) three-part fastening system from FastenMaster for structural
wood-to-wood with the strength of a through-bolted connection. It includes a PaddlePoint™
fastener, a LOK-Nut and an engineered washer. When properly installed there is no
predrilling required. First put the ThruLOK washer on the screw with the teeth of the washer
facing away from the screw head. Using a 1/2” drill (use an 18V if using cordless), drive the
ThruLOK until the washer and hex head are just above (about 1/4”) the wood and the point
of the screw barely sticks out of the other side. Thread the ThruLOK Nut onto the point, and
hand tighten until the nut is flush with the wood. Tighten with the drill. Repeat to match
code compliant fastening pattern. Note: Point of fastener must engage in ThruLok Nut to
“MIN” line or beyond.

When it comes to resisting corrosion in the harsh conditions encountered around salt water,
passivated 316 Stainless Steel is the undisputed champ. Its high Nickel content together
with a small percentage of Molybdenum make it exceptionally resistant to corrosion. This is
really the very best choice for all construction exposed to salt spray. Remember that even
316 stainless steel is more prone to breakage than the hardened steel screw you are used to
using. Note the non-standard head diameters (0.230). Drive carefully!

• Trim-style head is less noticeable on the decking surface
• Type-17 Self-Drilling Point
• Coarse threads on approximately 2/3 of the shank draw the decking and other
material tightly to the framing
• Type 316 stainless steel for seaside, poolside, or other harsh applications
Predrilling recommended near board ends to prevent splitting. Made in Taiwan.
