Need more time to stain your project?
The good news is that the water-based finishes dry fast! The bad news is that water-based
finishes dry fast! Yes, you want them to dry fast so you can get to that second or third coat
faster, but as a perfectionist, you want enough time to do it correctly. If you are working in an
environment that is hot and dry, you may need a little more time to wipe off a stain or stroke
out the top coat. The EF-Extender helps slow the drying time of water-based products so
that they flow and level better in those extreme conditions. Just add it to the stain, paint or
topcoat, stir well and work on your schedule.

General Finishes Milk Paint provides a tough, high-quality painted finish for your project.
It is designed for wood surfaces and is available in 14 of today’s most popular colors. It
can be applied directly from the can to your workpiece with a synthetic or foam brush, or
applied using an HVLP or conventional sprayer. Milk paint is UV-resistant and is suitable
for both interior and exterior furniture. Depending on the humidity, it can be sanded and
recoated in 1 – 2 hours. Use fine (220-grit) sandpaper between coats. Milk paint can be
applied over existing finishes and leaves a low-luster satin finish. Should a higher shine or
more protection be required, General Finishes High- Performance Top Coat is recommended.
Covers 400 – 500 sq. ft./gal.; mix before using. Color chart is not an exact representation of
colors; use for reference only.

General Finishes has produced an effective stain blocker that works, not just some of the
time, but all of the time. It’s not in-expensive, but then neither is your time to keep re-doing
what previously didn’t work the last time. It can be used on existing finish, raw wood or MDF
as a base coat for Milk Paints, Chalk Paint and pigmented polys. DO NOT MIX with any paint,
stain or topcoat as this will cause the product to fail. Rinse all brushes (synthetic blend brush
or short nap roller) with clean water. Prep surface by cleaning and sanding with 220 grit
paper. It can be sprayed-on without thinning using HVLP (1.1mm – 1.5mm) or Air Compressor
(.040) with the appropriate sized tip and medium size air caps. Sand between coats (approx.
1-2 hour dry time) and apply second coat on raw wood in 2-3 hours, existing finished surfaces
in 3-5 hours. Drying times can vary depending on the temperature and humidity. Coverage is
approx. 600 ft./gallon. Made in USA.
