The Tormek® Japanese Waterstone is 4,000 grit and delivers a mirror finish with hardly any
visible marks. Since it is made to create the finest surface, it has a limited steel removal
capacity and cannot be used for shaping* a tool. It excels at sharpening hand tools, like carving
tools, knives, scissors, plane irons and wood chisels, where a minimum of steel removal is
needed and a superior surface finish is demanded. Its unique composition gives the stone an
extremely long life. Since the surface left by the Japanese Water stone is so fine, we do not
recommend honing afterwards on the leather honing wheel. You should clean the stone surface
of steel particles every minute or so with the fine side of the Stone Grader (TOR-SP650). Do not
use the coarse side of the Stone Grader on the Japanese Water stone. Imported.

The Tormek® Grindstone is designed to work with the Stone Grader. The Stone Grader
allows the user to change the Grindstone’s properties from fast grinding to fine grinding, i.e.
sharpening. There are multiple advantages to this. You can first fast grind as well as sharpen on
the same grindstone and the same grinding machine using the same setting of the jig. Besides
being a very fast method, you achieve a perfect edge as the fine grinding is done in exactly the
same position as the first fast grinding.
The grading of the grindstone is created by pressing the fine side of the Stone Grader onto
the grindstone, which makes it work as a fine grit stone (approx. 1000 grit). When pressing the
coarse side onto the grindstone, the smoothened surface is returned to its normal condition
(220 grit). This process does not place excessive wear on the grindstone and can be repeated
any number of times. Imported.

set by rotating the stop or with the micro adjust on the Universal Support.
TOR-SVM140 – Wider than the TOR-SVM45: for longer and thinner knives.
TOR-SVX150 – For scissors sharpening: For small scissors, use the right clamp. For large
scissors and garden shears, use both clamps.
TOR-SVA170 – For axe grinding: If necessary, the honing wheel can be removed to allow
clearance for the axe handle.
TOR-SVS32 – For short woodcarving tools: Butt chisels and tools for power carvers.
TOR-SVD185 – For wood gouges: Comes with a set of profile labels, TOR-P01.
TOR-SVS50 – Multi jig for skew chisels with symmetrical bevels from 0º and 45º angles.
TOR-SVD110 – Patented tool rest for turning scrapers and special tools for woodcarving. Also
for cabinet scrapers and hollowing tools.
TOR-SE76 – Square Edge Jig automatically lines up the chisel to its upper, flat side so the tool
always mounts correctly and grinds at 90º. It has two safety stops to prevent the tool from
slipping off the stone when grinding. The jig is designed for grinding towards the edge with
the Universal Support placed vertically and for honing away from the edge with the Universal
Support placed horizontally.
TOR-SVH320 – For planer blades: Preset the fixed depth carefully, then the attachment will
guide the blade precisely for a flat grind.
TOR-SVP80 – Molding knife attachment: The knife is placed on the pair of hollow pins on
the knife holder. A magnet keeps the knife in place. The holder has holes to fit various knife
standards. Two pairs of pins (4 and 5 mm dia.) come with the jig.
