The Tormek® Sharpening System
The Tormek® sharpening system delivers a superior edge faster and easier than any method
available today! You never remove more steel than you need to, so your tools last longer.
The finer edge stays sharper longer. Tormek tools and jigs are designed for craftsmen who
insist on quality tools. The water-cooled system keeps the tools cooler so they do not lose
their heat-treatment during the sharpening process. As a result, tools stay sharper longer.
Tormek offers two models: the powerful NEW T-8 with a 10” (250 mm) grindstone and
the compact T-4 with an 8” (200 mm) grindstone. The water trough incorporates a strong
magnet, which attracts the steel particles ground from the tools being sharpened. This keeps
your stone clean and cutting more freely. Both units are user friendly in that they maintain
the alignment of the item being sharpened with the grinding stone or dressing wheel. The
Square Edge jig keeps your tool at 90º without any adjustments. Another benefit is that the
TOR-SE76 can also clamp short and tapered tools firmly. The jig uses blades up to 3”W (76
mm) and has safety stops to prevent the tool from slipping off the stone, which can hurt your
fingers. Tormek machines are covered by a seven-year warranty. All products imported.
New TOR-T8 and TOR-T4 Sharpening Tools
The TOR-T8 has a strong 1/8” (3 mm) steel housing and a stainless steel main shaft, making
it ideal for prolonged industrial use. The TOR-T8 motor is designed for the toughest work and
can run continuously; it is water-cooled and neither the stone nor the tools will overheat.
The TOR-T8 should be used when sharpening planer blades in the TOR-SVH320 attachment
and molding knives in the TOR-SVP80 attachment. The TOR-T8 is also the most suitable
for HSS turning tools and other hard materials, since its bigger motor can handle a higher
grinding pressure. The TOR-T8 features the E-Z Lock reverse thread (self-tightening) lock bolt
for quick grinding-wheel changes and an integral universal support to improve accuracy.
Standard equipment for the T8 includes: Square Edge Jig TOR-SE76, AngleMaster TORWM200, Honing Compound TOR-PA70, Truing Tool TOR-TT50, Stone Grader TOR-SP650,
Tormek Handbook TOR-HB10E, and Instructional DVD TOR-DVD2.
The TOR-T4 is designed more for the occasional user than the TOR-T8. It’s recently been
upgraded from a T3 and now the housing is made from Cast Zinc and impact resistant ABS.
The T-4 is designed for 30 minutes per hour operation. The motor is water-cooled to keep
your tools from overheating. It is ideal for sharpening woodworking hand tools, knives and
scissors. Honing on the TOR-T4 model is accomplished with the Universal Support as a tool
rest as there is no honing jig. Standard Equipment for the T4 includes: AngleMaster TORWM200, Stone Grader TOR-SP650, Honing Compound TOR-PA70, Tormek Handbook TORHB10E, and Instructional DVD.

Honing Wheels
E
A honing wheel gently removes any burr left behind from the grinding process and polishes
the edge to a razor’s sharpness. When new, impregnate the leather honing wheel with light
machine oil to soften the leather, then add honing compound and rotate the wheel by hand
to distribute. Always hone away from the edge. You’ll cut the wheel if you hone towards the
edge. Imported.
