Rip cuts with an exceptional finish
H
If you need, at minimum, the performance of a regular 202 blade but crave the exceptional
finish of a glue-line rip cut, this is the blade for you. One flat top plus one triple chip grind
gives that extra smooth edge. (10” blade has .087” plate.) Imported.

Ripping lumber can really put a strain on a contractor or benchtop saw, especially in thick
material. The long stringy chips ripping generates pack into the shallow gullets of hightooth-count blades, creating heat buildup as they are repeatedly cut. The deep gullets of
these blades avoid this so you get edges that are virtually glue-line smooth.

Blade Grinds Demystified
Carbide-tipped circular saw blades use three basic tooth grinds:
alternate top bevel, flat top, and triple chip. The alternate top bevel’s
sharp corners score the wood for clean crosscuts in hard- and softwoods. While
primarily a rip-cut profile, the flat top grind is also used on thin-kerf blades. The
triple chip grind is often combined with the flat top grind to mimic a two-blade
scoring saw. The top of the triple chip protrudes slightly, allowing it to precut brittle
materials prone to chipping.
