Make-it-Snappy® Countersink Set

Tired of countersinks that slip on the drill bit after one or two holes? After tightening the
setscrew half a dozen times, the drill bit is usually so scarred up that there is no hope of any
further adjustment.
Make-it-Snappy® Countersink Sets are designed so that the countersink locks onto the hex
shank and the drill bit slides through the center. A setscrew allows adjustment of the drill bit
for different screw lengths.
The bit may be replaced with equal-sized bits of any point design or length.
The countersink set includes five adjustable countersinks from 5/64” x 3/8” countersink to
9/64” x 1/2” countersink, as listed individually below. Choose from brad or standard point
high-speed steel drill bits for replacement bits. Please note: The 9/64” x 3/8” countersink is
a special purpose tool and is not included in the set; however, a 1/8” hex wrench is included.

Make-it-Snappy® Trim-Head Countersink

Cabinet Mfg
Hardware
Trim-head screws are great for installing trim moldings in softwoods but generally require
predrilling when used in hardwoods to avoid splitting or, worse yet, stripping of the recess.
Standard countersinks either have too large a countersink or too small a pilot bit. The result
is an oversized head hole that requires excessive filling or a pilot hole that isn’t big enough
to clear the screw threads. Our trim-head countersink drills a 1/8” clearance hole and has
a 1/4” dia. countersink that fits most trim-head screws perfectly. You will need to eyeball
the depth – on countersinks this small, the use of a stop collar prevents wood chips from
clearing, leading to heat buildup, which can prematurely dull the edge on the countersink.

When you need to countersink an existing hole, this is the tool to use. Its 5/8” dia. and 82º
angle suits modern screw design perfectly. The single flute design minimizes chatter and the
potential for oval holes. Of course, the ball detent shank works perfectly with the Make-itSnappy® quick-change chuck and other quick-connect tool holders. Made of tool steel.
